The iconic Purple Turtle known for hosting the best in the SA Music scene has just undergone the first phase of its revamp and will be undergoing a transformation that will elevate it back in the top spot as a LIVE gig Venue.

The Purple Turtle has received a breath of fresh air as of late and we will focus on a collaboration of music genres across the board by creating a platform for bands to perform to their own fans. Giving them the opportunity to maximize their own exposure enabling them to invest back into the band, new owner Jon Firth commented.

The Purple Turtle has for long been known as a venue the cornerstone of eccentricity and culture and is living up to that with a totally refurbished and renovated upstairs Sports Bar Ivy League and the Purple Turtle undergoing the current first phase as well, catering for the young at heart and hard core followers of SA Music.

This has diversified The Purple Turtle once again and can easily enable you to host an event collaborating different genres of Music. From Rock to Electro to Jazz this venue has really got it all!

The Purple Turtle could cater for around 450 people downstairs and around 300 upstairs and is perfectly situated in the centre of the Cape Town CBD with comfortable access to parking. Thus making it possible for you to host the perfect event or gig.

If you belong to a band you can host your own event / gig downstairs and we could cater for up to 450 people, with a full house bar facility and various sections with pool table for other activities during the course of your event. Catering for LIVE gigs, it really offers a variety of services or opportunity for you to host an event.

The Purple Turtle has also got its own full house in house sound system and could be utilized by up and coming and aspiring songwriters and singers to come expose and express their raw talent during our soon to be launched "OPEN MIC NIGHTS"
